September

What's Cooking:

Math: Sorting
Religion: Noah's Ark
Letter: Aa
Science: Apples

At guided reading we are working on recognizing letters, letter sounds, and sight words.  We are beginning to stretch words apart (like hat, sip, tin, etc).  We use a "rubber band" and pull it apart for each sound we hear in the word.

You will see new homework in your child's folder on Monday.  Please be careful with the sight word rings as I would like to reuse them from year to year.  Thank you in advance!

We will begin to have show and tell on Fridays.  If your child would like to bring something in to share, please be sure that the item fits in their backpack.

We finished up learning about colors.  We learned a poem and practiced reading it daily called: Rainbow Hair.  Therefore, we had to make rainbow hair (headbands).
