50th Day

What's Cooking

Math: Numbers 0-20
Science: Thanksgiving
Letter: Ee
Religion:  Jacobs Coat

We danced to 50's music.  We learned how the 50's were different than 2013 (what cars looked like, what a record is, what dolls looked like, how they played music, what restaurants looked like etc).
We made records and practiced writing by 10's to 50.  We made root beer floats and learned how to write a how to writing on how to make a root beer float.

We also had made cards for the last 2 weeks for veterans as well as a coloring page.  I delivered them on Friday to the veterans at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

End of October

What's Cookin'

Math: Numbers 0-10
Letter: Oo and Zz
Kid Writing: 3 sentences
Science: Veterans Day
Religion: Thankfulness to God

Guided reading activities,  dancing away drugs in the hall for red ribbon week, centers, Halloween, alphabet exchange.

Alphabet Exchange
We receive a letter from the alphabet from different schools around the country.  We made the letter S which we made into a snake (26 of them) and sent them to the different schools in our group we were assigned.  A letter comes with each alphabet letter so we can learn more about that state, local attractions, and how our school is alike and different from theirs.   We find it on the map on the smartboard and compare it to where we live.  We read their letter and then we figure out where the letter belongs in the hall and put a sticker on that map to represent where each of the letters came from.   We are still awaiting on a few letters to arrive.

Halloween

hank you to the volunteers who came in to help students change into their costumes and to watch students while they watched the movie while we transformed into old ladies!

AR
