Ready for Christmas

What's Cookin'

Math:  numbers 0-30
Kid writing: 4 sentences
Religion/Social studies: Christmas around the world
Letter: Ff

Our elf has arrived.  Her name was voted upon and Sprinkle won.  We have been writing during kid writing about what she has done.

Today we learn about Sweden and how their Christmas celebrations are alike and different from ours.  Check out the schools Facebook page as Mrs. Keller took a picture to post.

Please don't forget about the Christmas exchange for the students.

The Christmas play is quickly approaching.   I will let you know what students are to wear when I find out.

What's Cookin'

Math: Numbers 0-20
Science: Native Americans
Religion: Jacob's coat
Kid writing: 3 sentences
Letters: Cc; Yy

Pictures are of students kid writing, guided reading, gym, working on the numbers 0-10 during math, centers, learning about Native Americans.

We are learning about how Native Americans communicated and where they lived so far.  We learned they used symbols not words for stories.   We will finish learning about them and move onto pilgrims later in the week.  We also graphed about how many of us like to eat turkey and how many of us do not.

50th Day

What's Cooking

Math: Numbers 0-20
Science: Thanksgiving
Letter: Ee
Religion:  Jacobs Coat

We danced to 50's music.  We learned how the 50's were different than 2013 (what cars looked like, what a record is, what dolls looked like, how they played music, what restaurants looked like etc).
We made records and practiced writing by 10's to 50.  We made root beer floats and learned how to write a how to writing on how to make a root beer float.

We also had made cards for the last 2 weeks for veterans as well as a coloring page.  I delivered them on Friday to the veterans at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
